I want to use a own font (True Type) in this code:

<?php
header("Content-type: image/png");
// Email adres renderen
$email    =    "[email protected]";
$length    =    (strlen($email)*8);
$im = @ImageCreate ($length, 20)
     or die ("Kan geen nieuwe afbeelding genereren");
$background_color = ImageColorAllocate ($im, 53, 88, 121); // Container BG: 53,88,121
$text_color = ImageColorAllocate ($im, 194, 212, 229);
imagestring($im, 3,5,2,$email, $text_color);
imagepng ($im);
?>

How can i change the font in: Open Sans Semibold? The path is ../fonts/opensans_semibold_macroman/OpenSans-Semibold-webfont.ttf.

Do not use imagestring function use imagettftext, this function allow use TTF fonts.

$font_file = "../fonts/opensans_semibold_macroman/OpenSans-Semibold-webfont.ttf";
?imagettftext ($im, 3, 0, 5, 2, $text_color, $font_file, $email);

I came across this link. It will do what you want (I've tested it and posted results). Just pass the class the path of the TTF file you want to parse the data out of. then use $fontinfo[1].' '.$fontinfo[2] for the name.

In case you don't want to register, here is the class

    $fontinfo = getFontInfo('c:windowsfonts_LDS_almosnow.ttf');
    echo '<pre>';
    print_r($fontinfo);

Use imagecreatefromjpeg:

<?php
    $url = 'http://i.stack.imgur.com/' . $_GET['file_name'];
    header('Content-type: image/jpeg');
    imagejpeg(imagecreatefromjpeg($url));
?>

It's possible to script inkscape to do this.

The following command opens "example.svg" and selects all shapes in the file and converts them to paths, and then saves and closes the file.

inkscape --verb EditSelectAll --verb ObjectToPath --verb FileSave --verb FileClose example.svg

You are sending a .png image to the browser, so the browser tries to display an image. The additional text is just seen as invalid image data and thus not displayed.

A solution to your problem would be using header() calls to send debug messages to your browser, or use Firefox+Firebug+ a PHP firebug adapter. Firebug works with headers to transmit information, so it's safe in image generation functions.
